Understanding the exam pattern

 The FCPS OBG Part 2 Written exam is a computer-based test consisting of two papers.

Number of papers:Two.

Exam pattern: Multiple choice questions.

Number of questions:

  • Paper 1: 100 MCQs
  • Paper 2: 100 MCQs

Duration of the exam: 2 hours and 30 minutes for conventional exams and 2 hours for online exams

Marking pattern: Candidates need to score a combined 75% to clear the exam

How to create an effective study schedule

 Understand the exam syllabus: First of all, understand the exam syllabus very well. Identify high-yield areas, subject wise weightage and question format.

Make a study plan: Next, create a well-structured study plan. Allot more time to the topics you feel challenging. Also, incorporate time for regular revision of the topics you covered.

Use active learning methods: Rather than covering the topics by simply reading, incorporate

  • Practice questions: Try to solve as many previous exam papers.
  • Flashcards and short notes: Summarise the key points for quick revision.

Use the Pomodoro technique: To maintain focus and make study sessions more effective, use the Pomodoro technique (25 minutes study and 5-minute break).
